Know yourself—know your calling as prophet, priest, and king.  And slow yourself—allow His priorities to take precedence by spending time in Jesus’ presence.  Know yourself and slow yourself.  But we still have one point left: grow yourself.  Nobody can make you pursue your role as a prophet, priest, and king.

We each have to take ownership and initiative in our own development as representatives of Jesus. If you want to fulfill these roles of speaking truth, reconciling people to God, and restoring peace and justice, you will have to step up and pursue your own growth!  So how do we grow in each of these roles?

First, if you are to speak God’s truth, you need not only what the Bible says, but also how to interpret and apply it.

This is an excerpt from last Sunday’s service, “You Are Prophets, Priests, and Kings,” which can be heard here.
