As the Kingdom of man seems to flourish, we begin to give up on the belief that the Kingdom of God is coming in this world.

We stop believing that the Gospel will extend to the corners of the earth.  We stop believing that God will save people from every tongue, tribe, and nation.

We stop believing that the Gospel will change our lives—that it will purify our thoughts, desires, and actions.  We stop believing that God will sanctify us and the other Christians around us.

We stop believing that the Gospel will bring peace and justice to the conflicts in our world.  We stop believing that the Gospel will heal families and churches and communities and nations.

This is an excerpt from last Sunday’s service, “Kingdom Progress and Prayer,” which can be heard here.
